Acolyte Episode 7 Impressions(Caution for spoilers)
The story hasn't progressed since the previous episode, and it looks back on the past from a different angle.
⚪︎Indara is right
Indara and Sol disagree on whether Mei and Osha should become Jedi.
It's a difficult problem, as they are twins and there are tribal circumstances.
In a case like this, Sol should make a calm and objective decision, but he clearly has personal feelings about it. The results of the Force reaction test also confuse Sol's judgment. I understand that he respects Osha's own feelings, though.
In the end, they decided to report to the Council and wait for their decision, but Sol was concerned that the Council would not give permission. He wanted them to give permission.
Sol later admitted that it was his mistake. Not everyone who is Force-sensitive should become a Jedi.
The story begins after Sol happens to discover the twins, but it might have been better for the twins if he hadn't discovered them.
⚪︎The Council's decision
As feared, they did not give permission. This was the result of receiving a report from Indara and considering the tribal circumstances. And above all, Mei and Osha are not infants.
The Council has made many decisions over the years.
There must have been other cases where they trained inappropriate Force-sensitives and got into trouble.
They must also take into consideration the convenience and circumstances of the family, tribe, and organization. Before that, the strength and characteristics of the Force of each child vary, and there are also many different races.
I understand Sol's desire to make this child a Jedi, but it is clearly a personal feeling. On the other hand, Indara is more calm.
Indara has Pawadan, but Sol does not.
⚪︎ Qui-Gon and Sol
Now, Qui-Gon later also had a strong desire for Anakin to make him a Jedi.
However, in Anakin's case, it is on a different level. Anakin is a slave, and his Force is the strongest in the galaxy. Therefore, Anakin was the one who caused the Council a lot of trouble.
In the end, Obi-Wan inherited Qui-Gon's will and trained Anakin, but Anakin definitely had signs of the dark side. (Yoda saw through it.)
If Qui-Gon had let Anakin go as ordered by the Council, or if a Jedi other than Qui-Gon had found Anakin, Anakin would have become a legendary pilot instead of a Jedi.
As with Mei and Osha, it is true that it is easier to judge if you are of the right age. Therefore, the Jedi Order places importance on discovering Force-sensitives early in infancy.
"If that child had been born in the Republic, we would have found him sooner."
Force-sensitives who pass infancy not only experience negative emotions, but also have an impact on the environment around them, such as their family and organization.
